Heat recovery, or controlled ventilation, is the recovery of energy (heat) from exhaust air. It is a process in which incoming air is heated by warm exhaust air that leaves the room.
Heat recovery therefore means to recover heat from air that would otherwise be vented out through windows and transfer that heat to the fresh air being supplied into the building.
